Lavar Conscious also known as ill Conscious the Seven, is a hip hop artist hailing from Baltimore, Maryland. Throughout his childhood and adolescent years, the emerging MC was educated in the Baltimore public school system. Though, socially awkward as a minor, writing was an outlet that was prominent in his early stages. Poetry and other literary pieces would soon become a passion that was persistent and parallel with his life. It wasn’t until the late 90′s where he would acknowledge and embrace the hip hop culture as his own. Heavily influenced by premier lyricists such as Tupac Shakur, Jay-z, Mobb deep, Nas, Talib Kweli, and Wu-Tang Clan, Conscious began to create lyrics that would reflect his emotions and what he would observe on a daily basis. He would later learn how to compose and format actual songs that would eventually transition into demo tapes. Though his early recordings were of low quality, he managed to polish his abilities through the process. Lavar Conscious began performing at several venues around the city to establish a presence on the local scene. There he would learn the importance of networking with other artists and building business relationships that would help him gain beneficial exposure.

Now having found his niche in 2012, Lavar Conscious will be releasing his new project, The Essence. He has become the embodiment of controversial political lyrics, thoughts concerning Liberation, uplifting and the enlightenment of newer generations to come. He remains optimistic with the new project in the works. The Essence promises to be a fresh start for the MC and will definitely take it back to “the essence” of the once genuine hip hop culture.
